Transfer Of Capital From Other Charities And Trusts

Transferring a Trust to the Foundation Trustees of an existing charitable trust may wish to consider transferring the capital, or part of it, to Devon Community Foundation. Former Trustees can remain involved as an advisory panel if they wish, whilst Devon Community Foundation takes on the administration, investment of funds and compliance with charity law. Charitable Trusts that transfer to us gain all the benefits of holding a named fund at the Foundation without the responsibility of administering it themselves.

If the charity you are involved in is winding down, and you have assets that remain, you can transfer any money or property (if it has a positive asset value) to us and we will ensure that the money is used in line with the original charity's objects, subject to Charity Commission approval. Please look at your constitution, as you will need a dissolution clause to enable us to work with you.

For further information please contact Kathy Beechen on 01884 235887 for a confidential discussion.
