Rural Lives Fund          

Low wages, lack of essential services, a shortage of affordable housing, transport issues, environmental challenges and a change in population means life in Devon's rural communities can be tough for many - particularly those already struggling with isolation, disability or disadvantage.

Devon Community Foundation's Rural Lives Fund supports small voluntary and community groups working at a grassroots level to help those in need in the county's seven rural districts and to build stronger rural communities for the future.

Changing Local Lives 10th Birthday Appeal

This year, to mark our 10th birthday we are launching our ‘Changing Local Lives’ appeal. 

Over the last ten years, the Foundation has made hundreds of grants to voluntary and community groups who are doing life-changing work in our local communities,  helping local people in need.

Now you can help too.

We aim to raise £2 million for our Changing Local Lives appeal.  Money raised will be kept in a permanent fund and the interest generated used to make grants.  If we are successful, that means £100,000 every year for good causes in Devon for many years to come.  

How Can You Help?

Tell 10 Friends     

Sign-Up as a Friend of the Foundation for just £25 per year.  Then hold a dinner party, coffee morning, tea-party, barbeque or event of your choice for ten of your friends.  If each of your friends donates £10, that’s £125 just for having some fun!  Even better, get them to sign up as friends too!

Hold a ‘Change One Thing’  Fundraising Event  

If you’re already holding a fundraising event, summer ball or charity dinner, think about raising money on behalf of the Foundation’s Changing Local Lives appeal

Alternatively, set up your own ‘Change One Thing’ fundraising event.

This could be  your chance to wear a funny wig, shave off your eyebrows, walk to work or wear wellies for the day………whatever you choose to change is fine by us! The most important thing is to get your work colleagues and friends to join in and make a donation to the Foundation for taking part.  

Take part in a Sponsored Event
