About us
Devon Community Foundation is an independent charity committed to supporting local community causes.
We aim to build strong, vibrant local communities and make a real difference to the lives of local people in need.
We do this by
- Connecting individuals and organizations with local causes they care about. We help you to give cost-effectively in a way which achieves more for local people
- Awarding grants to small voluntary and community groups doing life changing work in our local communities
- Building endowed funds, using the income generated to ensure a permanent source of grants for local community groups
Over the last six years Devon Community Foundation has made grants totaling over £6 million to over 1,400 community groups in Devon, touching the lives of literally thousands of local people. (see people and projects we have supported)
We are one of 55 Community Foundations in the UK which collectively hold over £200 million in endowed funds and make over £70 million in grants each year to local causes.

How Do We Work?
As well as accepting general donations, we help individuals, companies and families to set up their own charitable trusts (Funds) with the Foundation, ensuring lasting impact from their giving.
We use our local expertise to help them support issues and causes which best match their business or personal interests and handle all administrative, investment and grant making duties on their behalf.
We also manage grant making on behalf of other organizations (Eg Comic Relief, the Office of the Third Sector)
